San Diego Bay Parade of Lights

Posted by on Nov 26, 2016 in News, Uncategorized | 0 comments

Charter a Boat and Join the Parade!

The San Diego Bay Parade of Lights is a time-honored holiday tradition brought to San Diego by the boating community. Continuing its long-standing San Diego tradition, the 45th annual San Diego Bay Parade of Lights promises to dazzle and entertain bayfront crowds during the evenings of December 11 and 18, 2016. Participants in this year’s highly anticipated holiday boat parade will decorate their boats to fit this year’s theme, “It Began with a Roar – San Diego Zoo Celebrates 100 Years.”

Presented by the Port of San Diego, the San Diego Bay Parade of Lights brings more than 100,000 San Diego residents and visitors to the shores and water of San Diego Bay each year. The procession of approximately 80 lavishly decorated boats has become one of the most iconic events in the region.

This year, for the first time, the parade will proceed to the pier at Cesar Chavez Park before making the turn to Coronado, giving spectators another area to view the parade.

Beneteau Ownership – No Cost For 3 Years

Posted by on Nov 19, 2016 in News, Specials, Uncategorized | 0 comments

2017 Beneteau Oceanis 31 “Open”

Oceanis 31

Harbor Sailboats is offering an extremely attractive ownership program that will pay 100% of the owners operating expenses for the first three years of ownership. The sailing club will pay the slip rent, insurance, maintenance, and pay the boats mortgage for the first three years. Owners simply make a down payment (or pay in full) and Harbor Sailboats will cover the rest!

The owner of this yacht will save thousands of dollars a month while still retaining 42 days of reserved usage per year and unlimited “stand-by” usage. The participating boat owner will have the luxury of stepping onto a fully prepared and maintained yacht and stepping off after enjoying a day on the water. Harbor Sailboats will manage all aspect of yacht ownership leaving more time for you to enjoy the boat and less time dealing with the logistics of ownership.

For some, the biggest advantage of fleet ownership is the tax benefits it may create. We strongly encourage you speak with a tax professional, but many of our boat owners have used Section 179 of the federal tax code to qualify for accelerated depreciation. This is the same tax benefits that farmers use to purchase tractors and construction companies use to purchase trucks. Your yacht will become the capital in your newly formed or existing charter business. Again, we strongly recommend you contact a tax professional for specifics on this program and how it may apply to you.

The Oceanis 31 “Open” is a fantastic family cruiser that blends easy sailing with luxury accommodations. At 31 feet, she is the entry level cruiser but can easily support the family for a weekend in Mission Bay or that week long trip to Catalina. A boat that is easy to control and a blast to sail, the Beneteau Oceanis 31 is a standout in this range.

Oceanis 35 Arrives at Harbor Sailboats

Posted by on Oct 13, 2015 in News | 0 comments

Welcome to the fleet “Silver Lining”, a 2015 Beneteau Oceanis 35. To the best of our knowledge this is the only Oceanis 35 available for charter in all of California. After being members for many years Tom and Linda decided they wanted to own a boat and knew fleet placement at Harbor Sailboats was the perfect fit, welcome aboard!

The Oceanis 35 comes on the heels of the ground breaking and extremely successful Oceanis 38 (Luna Sea). The 35′ has an open interior with the forward bulkhead being removed thus converting the fwd cabin into more of a loft, for 35 feet the interior in HUGE and easily accommodates a family for the weekend. A shower is separate from the head on the starboard side and a private locker on the port side makes it easy to store all your gear for the weekend.

Above deck the Oceanis 35 has a duel helm allowing easy sailing and an open cockpit seating 8-9 with ease. Enjoy top of the line electronics from B&G and a easy to handle sail plan. While anchored drop the transom down and go for a swim or enjoy the shade under the full bimini and arch connector. Silver Lining is sure to be a club favorite and a great addition to the already impressive fleet at Harbor Sailboats.

Visit the fleet and rates page for charter rate details. Interest in fleet placement? Contact Keenan to learn how owning a new Beneteau can become extremely affordable and worry free.

2015 Beneteau Cup- 3rd Place!

Posted by on Sep 24, 2015 in News | 0 comments

Team Harbor Sailboats took third out of fourteen boats in cruising class 1 aboard the Oceanis 41, Sweet Denyse. Beneteau cup was created to take Beneteau owners out of their norm and put them on a race course outside Point Loma for two days of excited sailing. Each year the event has grown, sailors have gotten better, parties have gotten bigger and people cant wait until the next year.

The 2015 edition brought nearly 50 Beneteaus all sailing out of the San Diego Yacht Club mixed into 4 different fleets. First 36.7 (one design), First Class 2, Cruising  1, and Cruising 2. Harbor Sailboats was placed in Cruise 1 with 3 other Oceanis 41’s and all other cruisers under 45 feet, we we’re the only Oceanis 41 not to have a spinnaker, OUCH!!! Despite being very slow downwind and unable to hold certain lanes due to the lack of a spinnaker, we still sailed well enough to get on the podium. It was tough for everyone to hold back the smiles; especially when we backed the boat into the San Diego Yacht Club, dropped the swim platform and were greeted with well deserved refreshments!

Thanks to everyone who made the event possible and to the 5 club members who joined Kyle and Keenan on the water that weekend. Till next year!
