Club Activities

Members get involved in the sailing community by choosing from the many club-sponsored activities to include: women’s sailing, Capri 22 One Design Racing, group sails, crew share, flotillas and socials. Please contact the office at 619-291-9568 or email for fees, times and further details.

Clinics, racing, group sails and other activities are specially designed to satisfy all of our member’s nautical ambitions. Unfortunately without participation and advance registration, these programs will cancel. Additional staff and scheduling is required to run all activities. Please take a closer look at all activities and call the office immediately to register. If you have suggestions for other events, we value your opinions and feedback.

Group Sails

Join fellow sailors for an exhilarating day of sailing on the bay or along the coastline. Kick back, relax and enjoy the ride or steer and trim the sails under the guidance of a licensed captain. This is a great opportunity to experience the larger boats, meet other members and pick up a few new skills.
Group sails are offered Saturday or Sunday year round.

Looking for Crew

	Looking for Crew! Meet new sailing friends, experience the fleet and save money! How it works: Login to the Members Only page on our website. Call the office or email sail@harborsailboats.com for your member ID; click on the Bulletin Board and add your name and information. You can now compose an email with the who, what, when, # of crew and the size boat you are interested in sailing and send it to the list of members posted. Don't forget your phone # and email address. Once you are posted to the list, members will in turn contact you when "looking for crew."

W.O.W. - Women on the Water

The W.O.W. program is designed to sharpen boat-handling skills and increase on-the-water time for all female sailors. If you are ASA 101 Basic Keelboat certified you have met the pre-requisite. Several skills will be introduced as teams of two sail together on a Capri 22 or group sails on a 28' or larger yacht in a supportive environment.

W.O.W. sailing is offered each month year round.

Night Navigation Clinic and Full mOOn Cruise

Join us on the night of the full moon each month as we sail offshore and return observing the navigational aids of the San Diego Bay. Gain valuable nighttime sailing experience and enjoy the beauty of the full moon over the bay. Reserve a spot today and become a nocturnal sailor!

Seasonal Sailing

Extreme Sailing
Extreme weather comes but once or twice a year. Experience high winds and cloudy conditions, with a chance of showers. A licensed captain and six sailors will enjoy rough seas and howling winds while learning more about big boat extreme weather sailing. Dates and times TBD by rough sea’s; don't forget to pack your foulies! Call or email the office to join our "24-hour notice" email list.

Whale Watching
Join our seasonal offshore group sails to view the Gray Whales as they begin their annual migration from Alaska to Baja California where their breeding grounds lie. These whales may grow anywhere from 30 to 50 feet in length and live an average of 40 years. Their migratory route ranges from 10.000 to 14.000 miles round trip, which is the longest route ever recorded for a mammal. California Gray Whales can be found just a few miles off of Point Loma.

Capri 22 Reefing & Heaving To Combined with Wind Shifts Tides & Currents. Learn the importance and “how to” of reefing the sails and practice Heaving To skills. TBD $75 Member Fee *ASA 101* pre-requisite	Coastal Cruising Clinic Master the art of anchoring and docking. Review sail trim and systems on a 28'- 32’ yacht. 5/22/10 $85 *Member Fee* ASA 103 pre-requisite
Capri 22 “Rusty Dusty” Refresher Feeling a little rusty? Dust off your deck shoes and join an instructor for a 2- hour Capri 22 Refresher. *Monday - Friday, 1pm-3pm* $75 *Member Fee* ASA 101 pre-requisite	Bareboat Trouble Shooting Increase knowledge while building confidence in this 5-hour powerful clinic.
