Spring though fall, Harbor Sailboats offers one of the most fun yet competitive race series on the bay aboard the fleet of one-design Capri 22’s. On the second Tuesday of April (full race schedule will be posted shortly), the 8 week “Spring Series” will commence followed by the “Summer Series” and “Fall Series”.

Tuesday night club racing attracts teams that have been competing for decades with teams who are just getting introduced to racing. This laid back event is a great way learn new skills, test against some of the fastest sailors in the club, and simply enjoy a Tuesday evening on the water.

For those with limited or no racing experience, the beginner race clinic is a great way to learn and prepare for the upcoming racing. This clinic will cover racing rules of sailing (RRS), course layout, starting sequence, and of course boat handing drills to improve your speed. We’ll being in a class room setting followed by on the water drills and practice races.

Participants can except to exit the clinic with the skills and confidence to participate in Tuesday racing. As an added bonus, many new teams are organically formed each season by clinic participants.

The following day we’ll get into more detailed “go fast” techniques like setting up on the proper side of the course, starting tactics, reading wind shift, tactical boat handling, creating passing lanes and a lot more. The Advanced Race Clinic is designed for sailors with some racing experience who desire to improve their results as either skipper or crew.

We’ll again start in a class room setting followed by on the water drills and practice.

Member may again join solo or as a team. In years past many member have taken the beginner clinic followed by the advanced clinic the next day.
